Something About Gears

I have some conversations with my followers on a SNS website recently, we talked about home roasting coffee beans - I’ve never mentioned here that I’m a man who has 6 years home roasting experience, and my coffee beans have the same quality as cafe’s. Well, that’s not my concern today…

In those conversations, I noticed almost all of them considered that the gears is the most primary things when making a good cup of coffee, from the roaster, grinder to drip cups. Base on my photographing and roasting life, I insist the primary thing is not the gear but the brain, of course , with techniques, skill and experience.

Same as photography, the superior gears can upgrade our works‘ quality, photographing mentors have mentioned it for 1 million times in their workshop. Why still have so many people been chasing the gears not the skills?

Just spend some money to reach a higher level is easier for ordinary people who does not care about being professionals, I think.
